Introduction
What’s your take on reincarnation? Most people are familiar with the word, have considered the possibility, and thought little more about it. However, some people feel they’ve been here before. Many have Deja Vu and a powerful intuition, where others have unexplained phobias, a higher level of sensitivity, or vivid past life memories. Have you ever met someone for the first time and felt you already knew them? Even though there can never be proof, an enormous part of the world’s population believes in reincarnation. Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism, all have reincarnation built into their teachings.
When we were young, Wendy and I studied Indian religions and accepted reincarnation as being true, along with its traveling companion karma. After the boys grew up, we conveyed our beliefs to them, and the four of us often talked about our future lives. Andy and Bobby wanted to be our parents and give us back the life we gave them. Because of our powerful connection, and the boys gone, Wendy and I agreed we had no choice but to find their reincarnations.
Join us on our journey as we pursue various seers and psychics before being drawn into Tibetan Buddhism. Over time, we meet a succession of lamas and each brings us closer to our goal. From One Life to the Next is an unparalleled adventure that will fill you with wonderment*. If you already believe in reincarnation, or are looking to decide for yourself if reincarnation exists, you must read this book.
*Wonderment: A state describable as wonder, strange, awe, surprise, marvel, or amazement. Wendy and Ronnie Barry
Foreword
How is it best friends can disconnect for years and when reunited the bond remains intact? Shared childhood experiences are our own, and you never forget them. Patty and I grew up with Wendy in the suburbs of Detroit and met Ronnie after their marriage. In 1986 we visited Wendy, Ronnie, Bobby, and Andy in their home in Florida. We had a memorial time and left impressed with the boys. They were vibrant, bright, athletic, and kind—the characteristics we admire in young men. Time passed, and we learned they moved back to California. Because Wendy and Ronnie are rolling stones, we never knew what they were up to and lost contact. Accepting the situation, we looked forward to one day reconnecting. Years passed before that happened, and to our dismay, there was a devastating car accident where Andy and Bobby had died. What horror and emptiness we felt and were sad about not being there to comfort Wendy and Ronnie when it happened. Then they laid another bombshell on us. They told us their boys were alive—Bobby in Florida and Andy in India. They reincarnated. Wendy and Ronnie found their reincarnations and it blew us away. Patty and I are practicing Catholics, and reincarnation is foreign to us. When we think about reincarnation, we think about becoming a cow, a polar bear, or a bug. We would prefer the boys resurrected in heaven and were with the lord. This is our Christian belief. From One Life to the Next describes another belief. If you are unfamiliar with Buddhism and Eastern culture, like we were, this book is very educational. You will find Buddhism and Eastern culture are as beautiful as Christianity. From One Life to the Next is easy to follow, authentic, sincere, enlightening, and believable. Ronnie and Wendy had their feet on the ground throughout the whole adventure. God Bless them, along with Bobby, Andy, Kelsey and Tenpa. What a tireless journey it has been. Robert Regan *Robert’s career in education spans 30 years.
The Journal
Shortly after Wendy and I agreed to find Andy and Bobby, several of their friends called and told us about their dreams. Others stopped by to tell us about a strange experience they had with the boys. The stories stretched our memories and realizing information leading to Bob and Andy’s whereabouts could come from anywhere; I started a journal. I entered the stories their friends told us first. Then, for the next five years, I wrote in it almost every day. The journal allowed us to write From One Life to the Next exactly the way it happened.
